The announcement will see Kia provide 11 vehicles to transport members of both teams and officials to and from Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club, which will host the tie from 3 to 5 February.

The agreement strengthens the relationship between Tennis Australia and Kia Motors, who have been a major sponsor of the Australian Open since 2002.

Each year, more than 100 of Kia’s latest vehicles are supplied to the Australian Open to ensure the safe and convenient transportation of the world’s leading tennis players, VIPs, officials and media throughout the event.

Tennis Australia CEO Craig Tiley said, “For the past 15 years Kia has been a proud sponsor of the Australian Open, playing a key role in supporting our home-grown players and promoting the growth of tennis in Australia. We are delighted that they have joined as official sponsors of next week’s Davis Cup tie at Kooyong, and we hope they can help deliver an Australian victory.”

Kia Motors Australia Chief Operating Officer Damien Meredith said the extension of the long-standing relationship with Tennis Australia was a very natural step.

“The Davis Cup has long been the zenith of world tennis and is a great example of playing for the team, not the individual,” Meredith said.

“That combination of competitiveness and sportsmanship is something that resonates with Kia’s values.”
